Our farm was established in 2020, at the high point of the pandemic. Chris and I were home from work and had actually planned on working on getting the house organized while the kids were away on Spring Break. They didn't leave, and our house is still unorganized. We decided to start small, we'd buy 4 chicks and if we didn't kill them we'd be happy. By the time we got to the store we decided 10 was a good round number. And while we're at it, let's add meat rabbits, Kiko goats, Nigerian Dwarf Goats, and Heritage pigs!
While we were collecting farm animals, we decided we should also grow our own produce, produce our own hay, and have a fruit orchard. We're still in learning mode and have many more ideas we'd like to implement on the farm. We're learning everyday, and loving every minute of it!
